JOB DESCRIPTION 

POST TITLE:               VOLUNTEER PARENT/CARER SUPPORT WORKER (Substance misuse) 

RESPONSIBLE TO:       PARENT/CARER SUPPORT / CLIENT INVOLVEMENT WORKER 

JOB SUMMARY:         To offer support and understanding to those affected by a family member or friends drug or alcohol problem.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. To work with the Parent/Carer support and Client Involvement Worker to deliver support to people affected by a

2. family member’s or friends drug or alcohol problems.

3. To provide befriending/buddy support to clients

4. Offer one to one and group support in a non judgemental, supportive environment.

5. To provide advocacy support to clients around drug and alcohol services. 

6. To ensure client notes are accurate, current and in line with the Data Protection Act 1998.

7. To ensure that the First Stop Data Protection and Confidentiality policies are upheld at all times.

8. Appropriately signpost clients to relevant services.

9. To undertake any other reasonable duties that may be requested by the Project Management Team.
